Week 33 and Rooney Toone

I completely realize that this blog has become centered around my pregnant self and sweet new nugget. I want to apologize, but I just can't. Because you guys- it literally consumes me. Mentally, and obviously physically. And just as much as it consumes me, it incapacitates me. It has hindered my ability to remember important things. And every day, one more physical activity gets added to the, "can no longer do" list.
Oh, but I love it. I love it so much. I think I love pregnancy more than I ever thought I would. Which is saying something.. My mom would probably assume that I think differently since I call her to complain 3 times a week.

This baby has already changed my life. The other night, Chris and I were laying in bed talking about the baby [per usual nightly routine], and we were discussing how in his short 8 months of being in our lives, this nugg has already made us better people. He has changed the spirit in our home. He has changed our marriage in way nothing else could. He has changed our outlook on life. He has definitely changed our conversations. He's even changed the kind of music we listen to and the movies we watch.
But with all of this change, Robins and I are also trying to enjoy every last ounce of our current lives. Because we both know that our lives will never be the same once he comes. We've tried to squeeze in as many summer trips as we can these next 7 weeks. I even agreed to go camping 37 weeks pregnant (and I'm pretty sure the only person that's going to regret that decision is Chris when he has to wake up with me 7 times a night to go use the outhouse).

Let me update you on some of our recents:

My family took one last small trip together before our little Rooney leaves for his mission. He chose to go down to St. George so that all the boys could go golfing. The car drive to and from were brutal, but it was so fun to be out there together. I'm sad I didn't get more pictures, but we enjoyed lots of junk food, pool time, late night movies, games, hiking, and of course- Swig trips (pictured below).

Unfortunately Carson, Simone, and Garrett are out doing summer sales so sadly- they weren't able to come. But Simone sent me that snap chat of Auri (pictured bottom right) while we were on our trip and I thought it was the most adorable thing! Isn't she the cutest little girl you've ever seen?!

Two days after we got back, we went up to Heber to watch Rooney graduate. He is officially the last Brown to graduate from Wasatch. Chris thought I was joking when I told him the graduation ceremony was held at the local "Pony Palace". Haha, that's Heber for ya ;)

Today, we went to the temple to watch him go through for the first time! It is such a sweet blessing to have every member in my family have gone through the temple. I'm so proud of Devin and who he has become. He's such a great kid and I truly couldn't ask for a better example. Not only is he my little brother, but he has become one of my best friends. I'm so excited for you and your future Rooney-Toone!!

In other news, our house officially has a foundation!! We're so excited to watch it grow. Although, the last minute decisions on tile, stucco, etc, are about to give me a heart attack..

I wish I would've gotten a better picture, but one of the things I am most excited for is our back yard! We decided last minute (and I mean- like the day before they dug our hole) to switch to a bigger lot. Bring on summer barbeques and sleepovers on the tramp!!

What is new this week?
Maybe just the fact that I'm 33 weeks?!?!?! It feels crazy to me that all I have is 7 weeks left! And technically, more like only 6 weeks because I will be 34 weeks in 2 days. I hope with all my heart that these next 6 weeks zoom by. Although I'm sure they will only do the opposite.

How big is the baby?
This big boy is a wopping 4 pounds! [A little over 4 pounds actually] And 18 inches. Getting so big, and believe me, it FEELS like it too. My body is starting to take a beating from the inside out.

Stretch Marks?
Uhh yes. On my LEGS!!! I didn't even realize my legs were growing... so... what the heck. I've been bitter, believe me.

Maternity Clothes?
Day in, day out. Although, I still try to pretend I can fit into my old clothes. Which is fine for now. But I'll probably be mad at myself when I try to put them on after pregnancy and they're all stretched out :/

It's like clock-work. No joke. For one night I sleep like an angel. And then the next two nights, I sleep down right awful. It's a wicked cycle. Because now I know when I have a long night ahead of me, and that just makes it even harder to fall asleep. If we had another bed in the house, Chris would be there in a heart beat. And I don't blame him. He has to listen to me moan and groan all night. Bless his soul.

Best moment of the week?
Baby has been SIDEWAYS for a solid two and a half months. Hasn't moved once out of that position. I was starting to get worried he was stuck there! And then of course I worried that he would never move, and that I'd have to have a C-section. So yesterday morning when I felt a kick in my ribs, instead of in my side, I thought, "No way. Please say he moved head down. Please please please..." And then I went to my doctor appointment and he confirmed that he was head down!!
The things that bring you happiness during pregnancy... haha.

Food cravings/Aversions?
Honestly, no. I still eat a whole lot of eggs though.. "I love eggs" Name that movie ;) [or show, I guess..]

Well as of yesterday, when he moved finally moved from being transverse, he has had so much more room. I think he realized this too because he has been literally flailing his little arms all over for the past couple days!

What I miss?
Snuggling with Robins. The pregnancy pillow is like a huge road block right in the center of our bed. I love that blessed thing, but I don't love that it completely prevents me from touching my husband. Have you ever seen one? Take a look at this thing.

You've never known comfort until you've had the pleasure of sleeping with one of these. It will be a true crisis when I no longer have an excuse to squeeze practically another human into our bed.. or in our car.. yes, I took this thing along with me for our 5 hour drive to St. George.
I would probably tell everyone that's pregnant to get one of these. I got mine as a gift (thanks Simone), but I think they are a little pricey.. I would still say it's worth every penny though.

Anything making you Queasy or Sick?
The only time I've felt sick as of late is in the middle of the night. I now keep a stash of granola bars on top of our bed frame. And I eat one almost every night. Haha.

Labor Signs?
I've had a couple minor contractions at night here and there, but nothing to get excited about ;)

Overall Mood:
This subject has taken a little dive lately.. Little things set me off pretty easily. I'll find myself being grumpy about the smallest things. And I feel bad about it. But once I'm grumpy, I don't know how to go back to being un-grumpy in the blink of an eye.. And then at my doctors appointment yesterday, he asked me if I had been feeling moody? Of course I wondered how he knew. And then he said at this point in my pregnancy, a lot of hormones are circulating in my body and not to worry if I've felt a little sad, mean, etc. What a relief.

What I'm looking forward to?
Actually SEEING this babe of ours!! I can't wait to kiss his little nose and tickle his feet. And put him in his tiny newborn clothes. And rock him to sleep. And bathe his itty bitty naked body. Oh. Be still my heart...

Both pictures taken at 33 weeks. Gettin' huge, my friends.

Also, I promise to start using my spiffy new camera soon. I've just been waiting on a new memory card! So enjoy the crappy quality of my pictures for a little longer ;)
